Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you win this lane clearly — your passive-empowered autos outdamage his Q poke at all early levels, and at level 2 getting E online lets you close the gap and proc your passive twice in a trade, which he cannot match.
  • Post-6 the lane becomes more volatile because his R gives him escape and global pressure, but in a direct 1v1 you still win if you engage on your terms and avoid his barrel detonation windows.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to auto-attack to proc your passive, then E onto him to proc it again, auto-attack once more, and disengage before he can W your blind or set up a barrel chain — short burst trades where you use E offensively and then back off are your highest-damage, lowest-risk option.
  • Avoid extended fights where he has time to set up a barrel underneath you and detonate it with Q, as a full barrel combo into his passive burst can delete you if he has ignite.

Wave Control

  • Keep the wave slightly in your favor near the center of the lane or push it to deny him safe barrel placement — when the wave is pushed toward his tower, he is forced to farm under pressure and cannot freely set up barrels without you punishing him.
  • Avoid letting the wave slow-push toward you, as a large wave crashing into you gives him cover to set up barrel traps and limits your ability to dodge or disengage safely.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use E recklessly into a pre-placed barrel, as landing on top of a barrel and getting it detonated during your E animation is one of the few scenarios where he wins the trade decisively.
  • Avoid overextending post-6 without vision of his R, because even if you are winning lane, he can leave, impact another lane, and return with gold and items that shift the dynamic — respect his global presence and play around objectives accordingly.
