Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you have a clear advantage because your E-Q-W all-in deals more burst than Ahri can sustain through, and you can use terrain to empower your Q for maximum damage; however, you must respect her E range and avoid walking into it, as a successful charm into her full combo can reverse the trade entirely.
  • Post-6, her R gives her a knockback that can interrupt your engage or create enough distance for her to escape, so the 1v1 becomes riskier unless you can bait out her R before committing.

How to Trade

  • Your optimal trade is to wait for Ahri to use Q or W aggressively, then immediately dash with E onto her and execute Q with a terrain element followed by W, dealing your full burst before she can reposition; the key is that you need to initiate after she has committed an ability so she cannot immediately respond with E.
  • If she has all abilities available, do not force the trade — her E into W into Q passive return is enough to punish a bad engage.

Wave Control

  • You generally want to play for short waves and avoid extended shove patterns, as Ahri's Q clears faster at range and she can maintain priority more safely than you can; instead, look to match her push only when you have a terrain element available near the wave to empower your Q for faster clear.
  • Use your wave advantage to roam when Ahri overextends to shove, since your R and mobility make you a strong roaming threat that can snowball side lanes.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your R into a wall that Ahri can simply walk away from — her passive movement speed and potential Flash mean your R knockback needs to pin her against terrain she cannot immediately escape, otherwise you waste your kill-pressure cooldown.
  • Avoid using E to gap-close when her E is available and she is at full health, as trading your mobility for a charmed state with no follow-up burst advantage is a losing exchange.
