LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, your hook threat combined with Caitlyn's headshot creates a reliable kill pattern, but Lux's Q can root you out of your own engage or interrupt your hook wind-up — you win the 2v2 pre-6 only when you hook from brush where Lux cannot see your cast animation.
- Post-6, your R gives you a reset-based execution advantage, but Lux's R can poke you to execute range before you can act, so you must manage your HP carefully and not let Lux whittle you down.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best pattern is to hook from brush onto a target that Caitlyn already has a headshot stacked on, then immediately E through them to slow and let Caitlyn headshot — this two-step CC chain kills most ADCs before they can react.
- Do not hook into the open lane where Lux can see you and pre-aim her Q to interrupt or punish your landing position.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You should roam aggressively once Caitlyn has enough wave control to hold the lane alone, which typically happens after she completes her first back with Tear or Sheen component — your R reset potential makes you one of the strongest roaming supports in the game and mid lane kills snowball your passive gold significantly.
- Optimal roam timings are when the wave is shoved into the enemy tower (Lux and Miss Fortune are occupied CSing) and when your R is up, as a failed roam without R is a wasted trip.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your Q hook as a primary poke tool in this matchup — Lux will punish your hook wind-up animation with her own Q, and arriving at your hook landing position already rooted is a death sentence.
- Save your hook for confirmed brush angles or for when Lux's Q is visibly on cooldown.
