Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win this matchup at level 3 once you have your full W-E combo available — Sylas has no reliable way to avoid your W Brittle application if you force him to trade in a tight space, and your passive shield absorbs a portion of his burst.
  • Post-6, Sylas stealing your R is a serious threat that shifts the dynamic; your R is most valuable as a teamfight tool, but in a 1v1 he can use it against you, so you must respect his power spike and avoid giving him free all-in opportunities when your R is on cooldown.

How to Trade

  • Your optimal trade pattern is to activate W to gain Unstoppable and apply Brittle, then immediately use E to knock him up and proc your passive bonus damage — this two-step sequence is your core damage window and Sylas cannot interrupt it once W is active.
  • Place your Q pillar between you and Sylas before engaging so your E has a guaranteed knockup source even if he tries to dodge terrain.

Wave Control

  • You do not need to rush the wave — your goal is to control the lane by threatening trades and forcing Sylas to respect your W-E combo, which naturally slows the pace and lets you farm safely.
  • If you're ahead, slow-push a large wave into his tower to create pressure while you recall and use your passive to shop remotely, denying him the ability to match your item timing.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not activate W carelessly when Sylas is at range and can simply walk away — W has a long cooldown and wasting it without landing the Brittle-into-E proc leaves you vulnerable and tradeless.
  • Avoid using R in a 1v1 context unless you are confident it will hit, because missing it gives Sylas a free window to all-in you without the threat of your knockup chain.
