Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight decisively because your W provides a massive speed boost and a slow, letting you stick to Amumu and chunk him with Q healing while he has no reliable gap-close until his Q lands.
- From level 6, you win 1v1 if you engage with W to close distance, use Q to sustain through his damage, and save your E to interrupt his attempts to disengage, as your raw damage and healing output outscale his tankiness at that point in the game.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Amumu typically starts Red Buff and paths through Raptors or Krugs into Scuttle, or alternatively starts Blue Buff and clears through Gromp and Wolves before contesting Scuttle around level 3; he favors full clears due to his strong AoE clear with W and E.
- Expect him to prioritize getting to level 6 quickly for his R, so he will rarely hard invade early and instead focus on efficient farming and objective control.
Invade or Not
- You should invade Amumu at his second buff (approximately 3:15–3:30) when he is low from his first clear, targeting whichever buff is opposite his start; your W gap-close and Q sustain make you extremely dangerous in a 1v1 at that stage where he has no meaningful escape.
- Avoid invading after level 6 without vision, as his R can turn a solo fight into a death sentence even for you if you are caught in a bad position.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not waste your W purely for movement speed without committing to a full trade, as telegraphing your engage without following through lets Amumu reposition and land his Q on you, which negates your chase advantage and can flip the fight in his favor.
- Additionally, do not ignore his W passive damage in extended fights — standing still to channel your R while he has E active will shred your health faster than expected, so always account for his sustained AoE damage when deciding to commit.
