Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you land your E to negate Sylas's W healing burst and sustain through his combo with your W active — without your W timed correctly against his W, Sylas's healing makes the fight very close.
- From level 6, your sure win condition is catching Sylas in the open with your R engaged, then immediately applying E to prevent him from healing through your damage, finishing with Q for the slow and sustained DPS before he can disengage.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Sylas typically runs a full clear starting red or blue depending on side, prioritizing raptors and gromp for camp efficiency, then looking to contest scuttle or gank mid/bot early since his pre-6 gank threat is moderate but his post-6 R steal potential makes him want to reach 6 quickly.
Invade or Not
- You should invade Sylas at his second buff around 3:15–3:30 if you started opposite side, as his W cooldown will likely be on cooldown from clearing and you can fight him without his primary sustain tool — target his red or blue buff depending on your start, and commit only if you have E available to suppress his healing window.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your W reactively after Sylas has already landed his W heal — you must pre-empt or immediately counter his W cast with your E to deny the healing, because if you let him heal freely and then pop your W, you waste your spell shield on a follow-up ability and lose the trade decisively.
