LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you have a strong level 1 hook threat that forces Vel'Koz to respect range, but Vel'Koz's Q slow and W knockup can interrupt your hook approach if he lands them first — you win the all-in if your Q lands, you lose the poke war if it doesn't.
- Post-6, your R into Q chain is a reliable setup for Samira's R, giving you a decisive teamfight advantage, but Vel'Koz's R can zone you out of hook range if you are not careful about positioning.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best pattern is to walk up with your passive auto to proc the root on Lucian or Vel'Koz, immediately Q to extend the CC chain, then E to slow and allow Samira to dash in and stack — the key is chaining CC so neither enemy can reposition before Samira reaches S-rank.
- Do not blow your Q on a minion or miss it in open space, as it is your only gap-closer and the entire combo falls apart without it.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You should roam aggressively once the wave is shoved into the enemy tower, particularly at level 6 when your R gives you a reliable engage tool in other lanes.
- Mid lane roams are especially effective because your R+Q chain is a guaranteed kill setup for most mid laners, and Vel'Koz's slow wave clear means the bot lane wave will not crash immediately after you leave.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand in Vel'Koz's W zone while trying to hook — his knockup will interrupt your Q animation and you will waste your primary engage tool while taking full poke damage.
- Approaching from a side angle or through the river bush reduces his ability to pre-aim W on your hook path.
