Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Shyvana decisively — her W empowers her basic attacks with bonus on-hit magic damage and her E gives her a persistent AoE burn, making her sustained damage output far exceed yours at early levels when your Q stacks are negligible.
- From level 6 onward, you can win a 1v1 only if you have 200+ Q stacks and can kite her with your E slow while your R gives you enough bulk to outlast her burst window; without stacks, she still outdamages you in a straight fight.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Shyvana almost always runs a full clear starting Red Buff side, clearing Raptors and then Blue side camps efficiently due to her W sustaining her through camps quickly; she prioritizes Scuttle Crab at level 3 using her speed advantage from W.
- Expect her to mirror-side invade or contest Dragon early and often, as her kit is designed around Dragon objective control.
Invade or Not
- You should not invade Shyvana early — her clear speed means she is rarely caught low enough to punish, and her W and E make 1v1 duels before you have significant Q stacks heavily in her favor.
- If you must pressure her, wait until after she has taken Dragon and is returning to jungle around level 6-7 with low HP; her Red Buff side at that timing is the safest entry point.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not attempt to fight Shyvana near Dragon pit without your R active and substantial Q stacks — she gains bonus resistances near Dragon and her sustained DPS will kill you before your W drain can compensate.
- Avoid stacking up in her E zone during trades, as standing still to Q farm while she circles you with E active is a losing pattern.
