Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Diana; she has a ranged Q poke, a shield from E, and a W slow that lets her control the fight, while you have no gap-close and your Q requires melee range — she can simply kite you and burst you down before you can stack meaningful damage.
  • From level 6, you win the 1v1 if you activate W immediately upon her engaging to cripple her attack speed and sustain through her burst with your passive, but only if you have sufficient stacks (roughly 150+) to make your Q damage meaningful enough to chunk her between her ability rotations.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Diana typically runs a full clear starting red buff, using Q to proc her passive on multiple camps efficiently, and will look to contest scuttle at level 3 aggressively because she wins that fight against you; she may also look to invade your second buff if she identifies your path.
  • Expect her to gank frequently from level 6 onward using her mobility, so track her position carefully and avoid being caught in the open without your W available.

Invade or Not

  • You should not invade Diana at any point in the early game — she wins every early skirmish against you, and invading her camps simply puts you in a position where she can burst you down with Q-E-W before you can deal meaningful damage.
  • Focus on farming your own camps safely, stacking Q on large monsters, and only consider counter-jungling when you have a significant stack lead and she is visibly on the opposite side of the map.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not neglect stacking Q on jungle camps — your entire power curve depends on Q stacks, and falling behind on stacks by chasing kills or contesting objectives you can't win means you will be irrelevant in mid-game fights.
  • Avoid engaging Diana in an open area without your W ready, as she can freely kite you without it and your lack of mobility means you will take her full combo without being able to respond.
