Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you have kill pressure if you land Q bubble since Caitlyn can follow up with traps and damage, but Mel's W makes trading risky.
  • Post-6 becomes much harder as Veigar's cage combos with Mel's E, and her R can execute low health targets.

Synergy & Trading

  • Look for Q bubbles when Mel steps forward to Q the wave, then Caitlyn can follow with headshot trades.
  • Use W bounces to sustain through Mel's poke but be careful of her W reflecting your abilities back.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • Roam when the wave is pushing toward your tower and Veigar is low on mana from farming.
  • Mid-game roams to secure vision or help jungle are valuable since your lane becomes increasingly difficult to win straight up.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't use Q or W when Mel has her W barrier up as the reflection can turn favorable trades against you.
  • Avoid standing in minion waves where Mel's Q AoE can hit both you and Caitlyn simultaneously.
