Who Wins
- Pre-6 you win this lane convincingly, especially at level 3 when your packmates are fully online and your E gives you reliable engage onto a champion with no real escape.
- Post-6 the matchup becomes more volatile because Shen's R can deny your kill pressure by making him unkillable mid-fight or punish your team globally, so you need to kill him or force him out before 6 or accept a more neutral lane.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to let your packmates deal passive chip damage while you Q to stack pressure, then commit with E only when his W is on cooldown — his W is the single ability that can make your all-in fail by blocking your E dash damage and packmate hits simultaneously.
- Once W is down, your E into full combo with packmates alive will win the trade decisively.
Wave Control
- You want to shove the wave aggressively to deny Shen the slow-push setup he prefers, forcing him to either fight you at the tower or lose CS.
- Pushing also limits his ability to roam with R effectively, since a crashing wave punishes him for leaving lane.
