Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Briar if she has her W active — her self-healing, attack speed steroid, and tankiness during W make her nearly unkillable in a sustained duel at that stage; your Packmates can be burst down quickly and you lack the sustain to trade evenly.
  • From level 6, you can win a 1v1 only if you land your Q poke to chunk her before engaging, force her to fight without her W healing window, and use your R to reposition and re-engage when she overextends chasing you.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Briar almost always runs a full-clear or aggressive early path — expect her to start Red Buff side (since she needs it for sustain), clear through Raptors or Krugs, then look for an early gank or contest scuttle around 3:15–3:30; she is incentivized to fight early because her kit rewards extended combat and she gains stacks passively.

Invade or Not

  • You should not invade Briar early — her W sustain and raw damage in a 1v1 at levels 1–3 heavily favor her, and your Packmates dying quickly removes your primary damage source; if you must pressure her, wait until after level 6 when you have better burst and repositioning tools, and target her second buff camp when you have vision confirming she is on the opposite side of the map.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not attempt to all-in Briar when she has her W active and is at high HP — her healing during W is substantial enough to negate your burst window, and if you commit your E and R without first poking her below 60% HP with Q, she will simply out-sustain and out-damage you in the extended fight your own engage creates.
