Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you have a clear window to dominate: at level 2 your passive dogs plus Q poke forces Anivia to play extremely passive, and at level 3 your full combo with E dash can chunk her to passive-trigger range before she can respond.
  • Post-6 the matchup becomes much harder because her R health buffer absorbs your burst, and her passive means killing her requires two full rotations — giving her time to land a stun and delete you.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to use Q to poke down her dogs' aggro range first, then E in when her passive is on cooldown and she is below 60% health, immediately chaining your full combo before she can land a clean Q stun.
  • Short, decisive all-ins are correct; extended fights heavily favor her because her E damage over time and R sustain will outlast your burst window.

Wave Control

  • You want a short lane with frequent resets, so avoid hard-shoving — instead, look to freeze near your side or trade in the mid-lane brush to reduce her ability to use terrain for Q angles.
  • Denying her the ability to shove freely is key; if she builds a large wave, her E clears it instantly and she gets free recall timings that let her outscale you.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not dash E into her when she has Q available and full health — a clean Q stun into E combo from her will kill you or force your R, and her passive means you still haven't secured the kill.
  • Overcommitting with your pack when she has R active is a losing trade; her R makes her nearly unkillable in a straight fight and you will burn cooldowns for nothing.
