Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you lose almost every direct trade: Naafiri's passive dogs plus her Q poke deal burst damage faster than your slow, telegraphed Q can land, and your E requires setup time you won't have at levels 1–3.
  • Post-6, your R fundamentally changes the lane by giving you a massive health buffer that lets you survive her all-in, and your sustained damage with E empowered by R becomes very difficult for her to outlast.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to use Q as a disengage tool rather than an opener — bait her dash with a fake step forward, then land Q on her retreat path to proc E.
  • Never trade without your passive available as a safety net, since Naafiri's burst can drop you to near-death in one rotation and your passive buys the time needed to turn the fight.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave consistently with E to deny Naafiri the short lane she wants for all-ins, and use the wall to force her to path around it when she tries to engage.
  • Shoving and backing frequently is correct because you scale harder and she has no meaningful way to punish a frozen wave under your tower once you have R.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not stand in open lane without a wall or terrain nearby — Naafiri's E gap-close into full combo will kill you before you can react if you have no escape angle.
  • Burning your Q reactively when she dashes in is a common mistake; save it to stun her mid-combo or as she repositions, not as a panic button that misses.
