LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose to Gangplank's Q poke if you play passively, but at level 3 you can look for an aggressive trade by walking up to stack your passive with auto-attacks and your Q, forcing him to either take the aura damage or burn his E cleanse early.
- Post-6, you win the 1v1 almost unconditionally inside your R: you steal his stats, he cannot place barrels effectively in the confined space, and his E only briefly delays the inevitable if he already used it.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to close the gap when he mispositions near a barrel he hasn't detonated, use your E to pull him into melee range, stack your passive with autos and Q, then activate your W to convert the damage you've absorbed into a shield and sustain.
- Force him to either fight you in your passive aura or back off and lose CS — he cannot indefinitely kite you in a short lane without taking meaningful poke back.
Wave Control
- Let the wave slow-push toward you early so you can farm safely under tower while he is forced to overextend to CS, then look for an R engage when the wave is crashing and he has no escape route.
- Avoid hard-shoving the wave, as Gangplank's barrel wave clear is efficient and you gain nothing from trading wave states with him — your goal is to control the lane position and pick the right moment to R.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your R on him when he has his E (orange) available and full HP, as he will cleanse your E pull, survive the Death Realm with sustain from his own passive, and potentially turn the fight if you haven't stacked enough items.
- Also avoid standing in predictable positions where he can set up a barrel chain from off-screen, as a well-executed barrel combo can delete a significant portion of your HP before you can even stack your passive to trade back.
