Who Wins
- You lose early trades levels 1-3 due to Aatrox's superior range, sustain from E, and Q knockup chains that you cannot reliably dodge.
- At level 6, you still struggle as Aatrox's R gives him massive sustain and damage while your R doesn't provide enough gap-close against his Q spacing.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to W his Q1 damage reduction, then Q through him when he commits to Q2 to dodge the knockup and get behind him for autos.
- You must immediately disengage after this combo as extended trades heavily favor his sustain and damage output.
Wave Control
- You want to freeze the wave near your tower to force Aatrox to overextend for CS, making him vulnerable to jungle ganks.
- Avoid pushing as Aatrox can easily zone you from CS with Q poke and has better gank setup with his knockups.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never try to all-in Aatrox when his E is available as he'll heal through your damage and out-sustain you.
- Don't waste Q aggressively for CS as it's your only tool to dodge his Q2 knockup and escape bad trades.
