Who Wins

  • Pre-6, Morgana's Q root is your biggest threat since it locks you out of your E escape and lets her land full Dark Binding into Tormented Shadow damage — you win trades only if you land Q stacks first and she misses her Q, which requires baiting it before committing; post-6, your R's execution threshold and the burst from stacked Q into E-W all-in gives you a kill window she cannot match if you engage when her Q is on cooldown.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to poke with Q to build nail stacks from range, wait for Morgana to misposition or waste her Q, then immediately E in to consume stacks, activate W mid-dive to sustain through her Tormented Shadow damage, and auto-attack to drain remaining stacks — never initiate the full combo while her Q is available since a root mid-E or mid-W shuts down your entire sequence.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave aggressively early to deny Morgana her preferred poke-under-tower pattern and force her to farm under pressure, but avoid overextending without vision since she can stall with Tormented Shadow and her jungler can punish your forward positioning — once you have R, look to shove and roam since your R's AoE slow and execution pressure in side skirmishes is far more impactful than a prolonged mid standoff.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not activate W reactively after getting rooted — Morgana's root duration is long enough that you will take the full Tormented Shadow tick damage anyway, and burning W while immobile wastes its movement speed component entirely; save W for when you are actively dashing with E or need to sustain through her follow-up damage during a committed all-in, not as a panic button after her CC already landed.
