Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight against Hecarim cleanly if you land your Q — his damage at that stage is low, his W sustain is not yet significant, and your burst combo outdamages his ramp-up pattern.
- From level 6, winning a 1v1 requires you to burst him down within one rotation before he builds momentum; if the fight goes beyond 5–6 seconds and he has W active, his sustained damage and healing will overtake your burst.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Hecarim typically runs a full clear starting Red side into Raptors into Blue into Gromp, reaching scuttle around 3:15–3:30 at level 3; alternatively he may start Blue side and mirror-path.
- He prioritizes farming early to stack his passive and scale into mid-game, so he is unlikely to invade you early unless he has a clear pathing read.
Invade or Not
- You can and should invade Hecarim's second buff camp after he completes his first clear — around 3:30–4:00 — because he has low kill pressure on you at that stage and you can force a fight or burn his Smite.
- The optimal location is his Blue or Red buff depending on his start, approached from the river-side entrance to cut off his escape path toward his own jungle.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not let Hecarim reach a prolonged fight at level 6 or beyond without burning his W early in the trade — if you allow him to sustain through your burst window, you lose the damage race.
- Avoid wasting your Q on minions or monsters when you know a fight is imminent, as missing Q in a 1v1 against Hecarim removes your primary kill condition and leaves you exposed to his sustained output.
