Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you win most trades because your Q mark detonation on W deals more burst than Lissandra can respond to, especially at level 2 when she only has Q and you already have W for the combo.
  • Post-6 the matchup becomes more volatile because Lissandra's R grants brief invulnerability that can absorb your entire W-R(W) burst window, so you must bait her R before committing to a kill attempt.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is W-Q to detonate the mark immediately, then reactivate W to return before her E can tether you, dealing significant damage while remaining untouched if executed quickly.
  • If she has E available and you see her winding up, delay your W engagement or use E-R(E) from max range to root her and force her to burn R defensively before you commit to the kill.

Wave Control

  • Avoid pushing the wave aggressively because Lissandra's Q clears efficiently and a pushed wave removes your ability to safely W in and out without being caught near her tower.
  • Instead, maintain a slight freeze or slow push to keep the wave in a position where her E root puts her in danger of your jungle, making her respect the threat of dying rather than just trading.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use W to engage when Lissandra has R available and is below 40% HP, as she can use R's invulnerability to negate your burst and you will have burned your escape tool with no kill to show for it.
