Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose the ranged poke war against Syndra if you play passively — her Q cooldown is short enough to harass you off CS repeatedly, and your only answer is to aggressively look for an E dash all-in when she overextends or mispositions.
- Post-6, your R changes the dynamic significantly because the movement speed and shield let you close the gap and force a fight on your terms, but you need to be healthy enough that Syndra's burst doesn't kill you before your W passive autos deal meaningful damage.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to bait Syndra's E stun by feinting toward her, then dash with your E when it's on cooldown — without her stun, she cannot reliably kite you and your W passive autos combined with Q pull will win a sustained close-range fight.
- Never engage when her E is available, as a stun into R into Q combo will likely dismount you before you deal enough damage.
Wave Control
- Let the wave push toward you early to minimize your exposure to Syndra's poke while farming safely, and use minion kills to build Courage passively so you always have a remount threat available.
- Once you have enough Courage banked and Syndra is low enough from your poke trades, look for an R engage from off-screen to catch her before she can shove and back.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your R as a pure engage tool from full health into a healthy Syndra — her burst at level 6 and beyond is high enough that she can stun you mid-charge with a well-timed E and delete you before your shield absorbs enough damage.
- Save your R for when you have a clear HP advantage or when she has already burned key abilities.
