Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Darius if he reaches you — your only win condition is kiting with Q dashes and auto-attack range to whittle him down before he closes the gap, but one W pull negates your spacing and likely kills you.
  • From level 6, you can win a 1v1 only if you pre-place your R before he pulls you, use Q to dash away repeatedly, and have enough Marks stacked for meaningful damage — if he gets even one full Q stack of his passive on you, your R heal will not save you.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Darius most commonly runs a full-clear path starting Red Buff side, clearing Raptors and Red before moving to Krugs, or alternatively Blue into Gromp into Wolves, then looking for early scuttle or a level 3 gank on a pushed lane.
  • He prioritizes getting to level 6 fast for his R-execute power spike, so expect him to full-clear efficiently rather than invade early unless he spots you low.

Invade or Not

  • You should generally avoid invading Darius at his buff camps early — if he is at his second or third camp and you catch him low with your Q poke from range, a level 2 or early level 3 skirmish at his Red or Blue is viable only if you have a clear escape route and he cannot land W.
  • The optimal invade window is after he has burned his first clear and is low on HP around his third camp, where sustained Q kiting can finish him, but any terrain that limits your movement makes this extremely dangerous.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not let Darius walk up and W you while you are trying to auto-attack — this is the single most common way you die in this matchup, as his pull cancels your kiting pattern entirely and his passive stacks will kill you faster than your damage can respond.
  • Avoid standing still to auto when he is within W range; always be moving and using Q to reposition.
