Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you lose a direct scuttle fight against Wukong — his Q shred and short-trade pattern with W disengage make him stronger in isolated 1v1s at this stage, so you should only contest scuttle if you have lane priority or a numbers advantage.
  • At level 6 as Rhaast, you can win the 1v1 by using your E through terrain to dodge his E engage, then fighting him inside your Q stacks with sustained healing; as Shadow Assassin, avoid extended fights and only kill him with a burst combo if he has already used W.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Wukong will likely start red buff and path toward scuttle aggressively, looking to contest at level 3 with his strong early skirmish kit — he may also look to invade your blue side after clearing his red if he suspects you started on the opposite side.
  • Expect him to prioritize early skirmishes and possibly a level 3 or level 4 gank top lane, as Wukong's kit is highly gank-oriented with his E gap-close and W clone for baiting.

Invade or Not

  • You should generally avoid invading Wukong early — his level 3 and level 4 power spike is stronger than yours, and getting caught in his jungle without form means you have no meaningful damage advantage or sustain to win the fight.
  • If you must invade, wait until level 6 as Rhaast with a few stacks already built, targeting his red buff side after he has committed to a gank, as this is the safest window to contest without risking a clean death.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your E through terrain aggressively to engage on Wukong without confirming his W is on cooldown — if he has W available, he will clone, reset the fight, and re-engage on you while you are repositioning, effectively wasting your primary mobility tool.
  • Avoid fighting Wukong in open areas without terrain nearby, as your E is your primary tool for both dodging his combo and re-engaging, and losing access to it by fighting in open jungle puts you at a severe mechanical disadvantage.
