Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Shyvana because her W empowered auto-attacks and E deal more burst damage than your Q poke, and she out-sustains you in short trades.
  • At level 6 as Rhaast, you win extended 1v1s by stacking Q healing against her, but as Shadow Assassin you must burst her down before she activates W, otherwise her resistances and sustained damage will outlast your combo.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Shyvana almost always runs a full clear starting red or blue, prioritizing raptors and gromp to stack her passive quickly, then contesting scuttle at level 3 with her W speed advantage.
  • She will likely mirror your side of the map to accelerate her R stacks and look for a level 6 power spike fight.

Invade or Not

  • You should not invade Shyvana early because her W movement speed and E damage make her extremely dangerous in her own jungle at levels 1-3.
  • If you are ahead and have chosen Rhaast form, you can contest her second buff around 3:30-4:00 on the opposite side of the map where she is not present, but a direct 1v1 invade before level 6 is a losing proposition.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not attempt to fight Shyvana in an open area where she can freely auto-attack and apply E, as her sustained damage will overwhelm your trading pattern.
  • Avoid committing to a fight when she has her W active, as the bonus damage and speed make disengaging nearly impossible without Flash.
