Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you are weak at levels 1 and 2 before your E is online, and you should avoid any extended trade during that window because his Q poke and barrel damage can chunk you significantly before you have your empowered autos.
  • Once you hit level 3 with E active, you win sustained trades clearly due to your range advantage and on-hit damage, but you must respect his W cleanse which removes your Q slow and lets him disengage safely.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to use Q to slow him, then walk forward and stack your passive through empowered E autos while he cannot retaliate at range — the goal is to force him to either take sustained damage or burn W, and if he burns W you can continue the trade freely since he has no escape.
  • Avoid standing on or near his pre-placed barrels during trades, as a single barrel detonation mid-trade can swing the damage exchange heavily in his favor.

Wave Control

  • You want to push the wave consistently and crash it into his tower to deny him barrel setup time and force him to farm under pressure, because his barrel game requires time and positioning that a fast-pushing wave disrupts.
  • After crashing, back off to safety rather than diving for a kill, as his R can negate your burst and turn a winning trade into a wasted cooldown situation.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use R to block a barrel combo you could have simply walked away from — save R for situations where he has R available and is committing to a full kill attempt, otherwise you waste your most powerful defensive tool on preventable damage.
  • Overextending for kills before you have sufficient items is a losing play, as your kill pressure pre-core items is limited and his global R pressure punishes you if you are caught out of position.
