Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Ambessa if she reaches you — your Q poke is not enough to deter her E engage, and she will kill you before your passive damage matters.
  • From level 6, you can win a 1v1 only if you force her to fight inside your W zone, stack consistent Q hits while she is slowed, and have enough HP buffer that your passive deals the killing blow after she thinks she has won.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Ambessa will likely start on the side opposite to you and look to contest scuttle at level 3, then invade your second buff or look for early dives on pushed lanes — she clears fast and will try to snowball physical damage leads before you reach your power spike, so expect aggressive early pressure rather than a passive farm-focused opponent.

Invade or Not

  • You should not invade Ambessa at any point in the early game — she wins every direct fight before level 6, and even after level 6 she can burst you down before your passive activates if she plays correctly.
  • Instead, counter-jungle her camps when she is spotted on the opposite side of the map, and never contest her in a direct 1v1 without significant HP advantage or ally assistance.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not stand still while casting Q in a fight with Ambessa — she will dash onto you with E and chain her Q resets while you are locked in your Q animation, and your W slow is not reliable enough to keep her in range if she chooses to disengage after trading, so avoid committing to extended fights without a clear kill condition.
