Who Wins
- Pre-6, you are vulnerable at levels 1 and 2 because Renekton's W stun completely negates your E mobility and he will win any trade where he lands it — play at max range and do not let him close the gap for free.
- Post-6, the matchup does not dramatically shift in your favor in a pure 1v1 because his R heals through your poke, but you can now threaten to disengage and reset the trade cycle more reliably with your superior repositioning.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to stack E spears on Renekton during his cooldown windows, then use E to reposition behind minions or laterally when he attempts to engage — never trade in a straight line.
- Force him to waste his E dash on a bad angle, then punish with a full auto-attack rotation while his gap-closer is on cooldown.
Wave Control
- Slow-push the wave by last-hitting precisely to build a large minion wave, which gives you more E stack targets and creates a wall of minions that disrupts his dash pathing.
- A large wave also means if he dives you, he takes tower shots faster, and your E lets you weave through the minion mass in ways he cannot follow.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not let Renekton walk up and W you for free — his stun is the single ability that completely shuts down your kit, and if you are stunned at close range with no E mobility, you will lose every trade decisively.
- Maintain distance discipline and never stand still farming in a position where he can E-W you without you having an escape angle pre-loaded.
