Who Wins
- You win pre-6 through superior range and poke with Q-E combo, but Olaf can all-in you if he lands Q and gets in melee range.
- Post-6 you maintain advantage through kiting potential, but his R makes him much more dangerous in extended fights.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading is Q-E poke from max range, then immediately back off before he can retaliate with Q or gap close.
- Never commit to extended trades in hammer form unless he's very low, as his sustain and damage output in melee will favor him.
Wave Control
- You want to maintain a slow push or freeze near your tower to maximize your range advantage and minimize his all-in potential.
- Avoid hard shoving unless you can recall, as being pushed up makes you extremely vulnerable to his Q-W-E all-in combo.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never stay in hammer form for extended periods or use your Q-E aggressively when his Q is available, as this removes your escape tool.
- Getting hit by his Q while in hammer form or without your gate up is often a death sentence.
