Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you lose most trades due to Azir's range advantage and soldier poke, but level 2 E gives you gap close potential for short trades.
  • Post-6 you win extended all-ins if you can stick to Azir, as your R makes you much tankier and your sustained damage output becomes superior.

How to Trade

  • Use E to jump on Azir when he's positioned aggressively, then immediately activate E to dodge his Q-soldier combo and stun him for a short trade before backing off.
  • Don't try to extend trades pre-6 unless Azir wastes his Q, as he'll kite you with soldiers and win the extended exchange.

Wave Control

  • Let Azir push early levels since he'll naturally do so with soldier poke, then look for freeze setups near your tower where you can run him down with ghost/flash.
  • Avoid pushing into him as he controls waves easily with soldiers and you become vulnerable to ganks in the long lane.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't use Q aggressively without your E up, as Azir will simply Q away and kite you to death with soldiers.
  • Never fight in large minion waves where Azir can use soldiers to both damage you and clear waves simultaneously, giving him a massive advantage.
