Scuttle Contest

At level 3, you win the scuttle fight by landing your E+Q knockup combo first, as the knockup interrupts Ambessa's mobility and forces her to take damage without being able to dash freely — if she dodges your flag, she wins the trade through superior sustained burst.
From level 6, you win the 1v1 by using your R to trap Ambessa inside the arena and then immediately following with E+Q, as the enclosed space removes her ability to dash out and lets your W slow and auto-attack pattern deal full damage.

Ambessa will likely start on the side opposite to Dragon, clear a standard three-camp path, and look to contest scuttle at level 3 — she prioritizes fast clears to reach level 6 quickly because her power spike is significant at that point.
Expect her to look for aggressive invades or counter-jungling if she identifies your position early, as her mobility makes her dangerous in your jungle.

You should invade Ambessa's jungle at level 3 after your first clear if you have vision of her location, targeting her second buff — the optimal timing is around 3:15 to 3:45 when she may be finishing her third camp and is not yet at full health.
Avoid invading her in open areas of the jungle where she can freely use her E to reposition, as your combo requires her to be in a position where the knockup connects cleanly.

Do not use your E+Q combo carelessly as an engage tool without a follow-up plan — if Ambessa dodges the flag with her E dash, you have no knockup available and she will immediately trade back with full Q resets and win the extended fight.
Wasting your combo in a failed engage is the primary reason you lose this matchup, as without the knockup you have no way to stop her mobility.
