LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you can land your E dash into a full Q combo, as your burst and mobility outpace Jarvan IV's setup at that stage — however, if he lands E+Q knockup first, he dictates the trade and you lose the exchange.
- From level 6, you win the 1v1 by using your R to close distance and chain Q resets on Jarvan IV, as your sustained damage through resets outscales his burst window once his E+Q cooldown is on cooldown.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Jarvan IV will most likely start Red Buff side, clear Raptors, then Wolves into Blue Buff and Gromp, looking to hit level 3 and contest scuttle on the side he started — he favors early skirmishing and will look for a level 3 gank on a pushed lane if scuttle isn't available.
- Expect him to prioritize Dragon side early given his strong early game and desire to fight before you scale.
Invade or Not
- You can invade Jarvan IV's Red Buff at the start if you know his starting side, as you can clear it faster and deny him early tempo — the optimal timing is between 1:30 and 2:00 before he finishes his second camp.
- However, avoid a direct 1v1 invade at his Blue Buff side early because his E+Q knockup into W slow can zone you out of his jungle effectively if he catches you in a narrow corridor.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not overcommit your E dash aggressively into Jarvan IV without confirming his E+Q is on cooldown — if he has his flag up, he can instantly knockup you mid-dash and turn the fight entirely.
- Burning your E to engage and then having no escape when he has his full combo available is the most common way to lose this matchup.
