LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win this matchup if you can stack your passive to 4 before engaging — Swain's short-to-medium range and lack of a reliable escape means a fully stacked all-in with Q resets will chunk him heavily; however, his W root and E slow can interrupt your Q chain and let him drain you back, so the window is narrow.
- Post-6, Swain's R makes extended trades heavily favor him due to his healing and damage amplification, so you must burst him down before he activates it or disengage entirely.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to shove the wave, force him to last-hit under pressure, then all-in with passive stacked — use E to disrupt his W root before committing your Q chain, as getting rooted mid-combo is a death sentence.
- Short trades are not in your favor because his E slow and W setup allow him to land his full combo; commit fully or don't engage at all.
Wave Control
- You want to maintain a slow push or freeze near your side of the lane to deny him safe CS and force him to walk up, where you can punish with a stacked passive all-in.
- Avoid letting him shove freely, as a pushed wave removes your ability to all-in safely and lets him poke you with E while you're stuck farming under tower.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not engage on Swain when your passive is at 0–1 stacks — without the damage and reset potential, you trade poorly into his sustained drain and will lose the exchange.
- Also avoid fighting him when his R is active; if he pops R mid-trade, disengage immediately rather than trying to out-sustain him, as his healing at that point outpaces your burst.
