Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win extended trades once you have 5 stacks and your E up, but Diana's W shield and passive empowered autos make short trades punishing if you engage without full stacks — level 3 is your first real spike where E into Q reset chains become threatening.
  • Post-6, Diana's R gives her a hard engage tool that punishes you if your E is on cooldown, so you need to either all-in before she hits 6 or respect her burst window carefully.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to stack your passive to 5 on minions before engaging, then E onto Diana to proc the stun, auto-W-auto, and use Q resets to extend the trade — the key is keeping her marked with E so she cannot disengage without eating the stun.
  • Avoid short trades where she can proc her passive shield and walk away, as you need the full combo to outdamage her sustain and shielding.

Wave Control

  • You want to shove the wave hard early to deny Diana roam pressure and force her to farm under tower, where your Q resets on minions let you dive or poke safely.
  • Avoid letting the wave freeze near her tower, as she can safely farm with Q and you lose your ability to all-in without tower threat.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not engage onto Diana with your E when she has her W active — the shield absorbs a significant portion of your burst and she can immediately retaliate with her empowered auto and Q.
  • Mistiming your E stun by engaging before her W expires is the single most common way to lose a trade you should otherwise win.
