Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win most extended trades if you land E, but Nasus's W completely shuts down your auto-attack chains and significantly reduces your damage output, making blind trades riskier than they appear.
  • Post-6, your R is a massive power spike that Nasus cannot match in a short window, but if he has stacked enough Q and activates his own R, he becomes tanky enough to outlast your R duration if you didn't already have a significant health lead.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to land E first to pull his spirit out, then immediately follow with W slam and Q tentacle slam while the spirit is vulnerable — this forces him to either take heavy damage or burn W defensively.
  • Never initiate a trade with just autos, because his W will be up frequently and will gut your DPS mid-trade.

Wave Control

  • You want to slow-push or freeze the wave near your side to deny him safe Q stacking, as Nasus is entirely dependent on farming his Q undisturbed to become relevant.
  • Forcing him to Q under pressure or under threat of your E is your primary win condition in lane; letting him free-farm a freeze against you is how you lose the late game.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not overextend trying to land E when his W is available, because missing E means you have no damage threat and he can freely Q farm or even trade back with his W active.
  • Burning your E on minions or missing it entirely is the single biggest mistake you can make, as your entire lane pressure collapses without it.
