Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you engage with E into Q spam, as your AoE damage and movement speed from passive give you superior burst and kiting potential against Viego's short-range W healing.
- From level 6, you can reliably win a 1v1 by using E to close distance, stacking Q rapidly, and using W to sustain through Viego's W healing — Viego cannot disengage from you once you have momentum, and his R requires a kill to activate, which you should deny by keeping your HP above his burst threshold.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Viego typically runs a full clear starting Red Buff side, pathing Red → Raptors → Wolves → Blue → Gromp, or the mirror path, prioritizing early full clears to hit level 6 quickly for his R-enabled skirmishing.
- He will look to invade your jungle or contest scuttle at level 3–4 if he senses a power spike, and he tends to gank side lanes with W slow and Q poke to set up kills for his R resets.
Invade or Not
- You should invade Viego at his second buff camp (approximately 3:15–3:30) when he is low from clearing, as your E gap-close and Q burst outdamage him in a dueling scenario before he has W stacks built up.
- Target his Blue side if he started Red, catching him between camps with no escape tool — Viego has no dash or hard disengage, so cornering him in his own jungle is highly punishing.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not fight Viego when he has a fresh W active and you are below 50% HP, as his W healing combined with Q poke can reverse a fight you think you are winning.
- Avoid extended trades without your E available, because without the movement speed burst from E you lose your primary damage and chase tool, making you vulnerable to Viego simply walking away and resetting W.
