Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight against Ambessa if you can land your E charge from a bush or off-angle where she cannot pre-emptively dash away with her Q — Ambessa's Q dashes are her primary tool to dodge your E, so denying her the reaction time is essential.
- From level 6, you win a 1v1 by using your E to knock her into terrain, immediately following with W active for sustain, and maintaining momentum stacks to keep your damage high — Ambessa struggles when she cannot freely dash and reset her Q pattern, and your W healing outlasts her burst if the fight goes long.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Ambessa typically runs a Red side start (Red → Raptors → Wolves) or a Blue side start depending on her team composition, and she will look to contest Scuttle at level 3 aggressively because her early skirmish power is high.
- Expect her to invade your jungle if she identifies your path, particularly targeting you between camps, as her Q mobility makes her confident in skirmishes even in your own jungle.
Invade or Not
- You should not blindly invade Ambessa early — her Q dashes and short-range burst make her extremely dangerous in tight jungle corridors where you cannot build E momentum.
- Instead, look to counter-gank her early ganks or collapse on her when she overextends in a side lane, as your E engage from off-screen is far more effective than a direct jungle duel at equal HP.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your E into Ambessa when she has her Q dashes available and open terrain behind her — she will simply dash through or away from your charge, wasting your primary engage tool and leaving you vulnerable to her counter-trade.
- Avoid extended fights without your W active, as Ambessa's passive burst stacks deal significant damage quickly and your sustain is the primary reason you can win prolonged trades.
