Who Wins
- You lose early trades levels 1-3 to Aatrox's superior range and Q poke, but can start winning extended trades around level 4-5 with Q stacks and passive sustain.
- Post-6 you gain significant advantage as your R provides massive AoE damage and scaling healing (up to 3 casts) - landing multiple R casts while dodging his Qs turns fights heavily in your favor.
How to Trade
- Use W to negate his Q sweet spots and force him to waste abilities, then engage with E-Q for extended trades while he's on cooldown.
- Stack Q on minions before trading and use your passive max HP damage + healing to out-sustain his poke - your extended trade damage outscales his if you avoid Q sweet spots.
Wave Control
- Freeze the wave near your tower early to deny him push priority and force him to overextend for CS, making him vulnerable to ganks and your all-in.
- Maintain the freeze as you lack sustain outside of combat - forcing him to break the freeze wastes his abilities and creates punish windows when his Qs are down.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never trade without W available against his full combo, as landing multiple Q sweet spots chunks you heavily without the immunity zone protection.
- Don't waste R casts on minions or single targets - save all three casts for all-ins where the scaling damage and healing per cast create insurmountable advantages in extended fights.
