Who Wins
- Play safe levels 1-3, focusing on last-hitting and poking with your superior range rather than forcing trades - Gwen can out-trade you in extended fights early.
- Post-6 the matchup becomes harder as her R deals massive AoE damage with scaling healing per cast (up to 3 casts) - dodging her second and third R casts is vital to surviving all-ins.
How to Trade
- Q1 or Q2 sweet spots from max range for poke, then immediately back off before she can retaliate with extended trades using her passive and Q.
- When her W is down, you can look for short Q-W combos, but never commit to full rotations as her sustained damage and healing outscale yours in prolonged fights.
Wave Control
- Freeze the lane near your tower to deny Gwen gold and CS, as she has no sustain outside of combat and struggles to break freezes without overextending.
- Avoid pushing early as this gives her free farm and removes your ability to zone her from CS with Q poke from a safe freeze position.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never commit to extended trades when she has W available, as the immunity zone negates your entire combo and lets her freely damage you.
- Don't waste E aggressively or use all three Qs without hitting, as she punishes cooldown windows hard with her Q spam and passive max HP damage - missing abilities guarantees you lose the trade.
