Scuttle Contest

At level 3, you win the scuttle fight against Ambessa if you respect your range advantage and avoid letting her chain E into you freely — use your E to sidestep her E engage and immediately retaliate with Q into autos, as her window to deal damage requires sustained melee contact that you can deny.
From level 6, you win the 1v1 by using W to blind her before she can proc her Q resets, then E away to create distance and finish with Q, since her damage pattern collapses when she cannot auto-attack freely in melee range.

Ambessa will most likely start on the side closest to the enemy bot lane for early pressure potential, running a standard three-camp clear before contesting scuttle, often prioritizing Red Buff → Raptors or Blue → Gromp depending on side.
She will look for early skirmishes and dives at level 6 because her R dramatically increases her all-in threat, so expect her to be aggressive around objectives and gank-heavy lanes early.

You should invade Ambessa's jungle when she commits to a gank or is spotted on the opposite side of the map — specifically taking her Red or Blue buff around the 4:00–5:00 minute window when you have a clear tracking read on her position.
Ambessa has no reliable escape tool if caught in her own jungle without her E available, making her vulnerable to a counter-jungle punish when you have vision control.

Do not let Ambessa close the gap and chain her E onto you in a narrow jungle corridor where your E repositioning is blocked by terrain — your entire gameplan relies on maintaining enough distance to control the fight with Q poke and auto-attacks, and if she sticks to you in a tight space, her sustained melee damage will outlast your burst.
Avoid using your E aggressively to engage on her, as burning it offensively removes your only reliable escape tool and she will punish the cooldown immediately.
