Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win this lane clearly through range superiority — your Q poke and auto-attack harass in mini form keep Yorick from freely stacking his passive or engaging without taking significant damage.
  • Post-6, the matchup becomes genuinely dangerous because Yorick's R can wall you in during mini form and his sustained damage with ghouls will kill you if you cannot escape, so you must manage your rage bar to have mega form available as a defensive tool when he looks to all-in.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to poke with Q from max range, auto-attack when Yorick overextends to stack ghouls, and immediately disengage before he can land his Q slow and commit his W.
  • Never let him dictate a prolonged melee exchange — your damage is front-loaded in short trades, and his sustain and ghoul attrition will beat you in any fight lasting more than a few seconds.

Wave Control

  • Keep the wave in the middle of the lane or slightly toward your side to maximize your poke range advantage and give yourself room to kite backward when Yorick engages.
  • Avoid letting the wave crash into your tower, as that removes your escape space and makes Yorick's R wall significantly more threatening by trapping you in a corner.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not waste your mega form R aggressively on Yorick when he has his R available — he can wall you in mid-transformation or immediately after, and your mega form's slow movement speed makes you vulnerable to being trapped and killed by his ghouls.
  • Instead, use mega form defensively to survive his all-in or to disengage, and only commit to an offensive mega R when his R is confirmed to be on cooldown.
