Who Wins
- Pre-6, you have a meaningful range advantage that lets you poke Kled down before he can engage, but Kled's W passive makes short trades dangerous if he lands his Q tether and closes the gap — you need to respect his all-in potential especially at level 3 when he has Q, W, and E to chain together.
- Post-6, your R gives you a strong disengage tool and teamfight presence, but Kled's R can follow you across the map and his remount gives him a second health bar, so a straight 1v1 at 6 is not a guaranteed win for you unless he's already low on Courage.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to poke with Q from max range during Mini Gnar, stack rage passively, then look to engage with a full Mega Gnar transformation — the stun from your E into R combo in Mega form is your highest-damage window and Kled has no reliable way to disengage from it.
- Avoid extended trades in Mini Gnar when Kled has his W stacks ready, as his sustained damage output will outpace your short-range auto attacks at close quarters.
Wave Control
- You want to maintain a slight push advantage to keep Kled from freely walking up to you, but avoid hard shoving the wave into his tower where he can safely farm and build Courage from minion kills without risk.
- Use your Q to harass him off the wave during the laning phase — denying him minions slows his Courage generation and delays his remount threat, which is a meaningful pressure point in this matchup.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not let your rage bar sit near full without a plan, because transforming into Mega Gnar in a bad position with no follow-up is a wasted cooldown and leaves you vulnerable during the long Mini Gnar phase that follows.
- Also avoid standing still to poke when Kled has his E available — he can dash onto you faster than you expect and his Q tether will lock you in place long enough for him to proc his W and win the short trade.
