Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you win this lane clearly — your Q range lets you poke him without him being able to retaliate, and your passive healing sustains through his occasional trades; at level 2 and 3 he gains E-Q-E burst potential, but your W hard-counters his tornado and your Q range keeps him from safely stacking it.
  • Post-6 the matchup becomes more dangerous as his R provides a strong all-in window, but your R global pressure and W still give you tools to survive or disengage.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to set up a barrel chain at medium range and use your Q to proc it when he walks up to CS, forcing him to either take damage or back off; if he dashes in, immediately W to remove any tornado CC, then Q him and back away — never let him dictate an extended melee fight where his passive shield and E mobility give him an advantage.

Wave Control

  • You want to slow-push the wave to build a large cannon wave, which forces him to either take tower damage or fight you in an unfavorable position; barrels placed in a large wave are harder for him to destroy without taking poke, and the wave pressure limits his roaming with R.
  • Avoid letting him push freely, as a fast-pushed wave removes your barrel setup time and gives him priority to roam.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your W preemptively or waste it on minor poke — saving it specifically for his tornado is what makes this matchup winnable, and burning it early means his next E-Q-E pattern will knock you up into a full combo.
  • Also avoid placing barrels too close to him without a chain setup, as he can simply E through the barrel to reach you and the barrel explosion won't stop his engage.
