Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win short trades at level 3 once you have Q and E, as your E into Q combo deals significant burst damage and Vladimir has no reliable escape before he builds any HP; post-6, your R gives you a massive teamfight tool but Vladimir's R-empowered sustain and damage in a prolonged duel makes extended 1v1s post-6 increasingly dangerous for you as the game goes on.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to use E to dash through Vladimir, immediately follow with Q to slow and damage him, then auto-attack and disengage before he can pool and reset the trade; avoid letting him stack his passive by trading repeatedly in short windows, as each trade he wins health back and you do not.
Wave Control
- You want to push the wave consistently with Q to deny Vladimir his preferred poke-and-sustain pattern under tower pressure; a shoved wave forces him to last-hit under tower, which reduces his ability to freely pool and poke you, and it also sets up roam opportunities where your R has far more value than his.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand still trying to tank his poke thinking your base resistances will carry you — Vladimir's damage scales with his HP pool and he will out-sustain your passive regeneration over a long lane; if you are not actively trading or roaming, you are losing the attrition war.
