Who Wins

  • Pre-6, Cassiopeia's sustained poison damage and range advantage make her win most extended trades; you can look for short all-ins at level 3 when your Q-W-E combo deals a burst of damage before her E stacks can accumulate, but she will out-sustain you if the trade drags on.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a reliable engage tool to burst her before she can stack E damage, making you the stronger solo kill threat if you land your combo cleanly.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to use Q to gap-close, immediately apply W, then E to dodge her E spam and auto-attack damage, forcing a short burst window rather than a sustained fight.
  • Never let her freely stack E on you while you're grounded — commit to the full combo or disengage entirely, as half-trades heavily favor her.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave early to deny her free E harass under tower, as she struggles to poke you safely when you're not standing in the open.
  • Once you have priority, look to roam, since you will not consistently out-trade her in a prolonged laning phase and your value is better spent creating advantages elsewhere.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use E defensively to dodge her Q or E poke and then have no escape tool when she or her jungler engages — your E is your primary survival and engage mechanism and burning it reactively to small poke will get you killed.
  • Also avoid standing in minion waves where her E bounces freely, as the passive poison stacking will drain your HP faster than you can recover.
