Scuttle Contest

At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you can bait Talon's E with your W zone, forcing him to either disengage or walk into the stun; Talon's burst is front-loaded and if he misses his window, your passive procs and W stun swing the fight decisively in your favor.
From level 6, your sure win condition is to never fight Talon in an open area without your W placed preemptively — force him to choose between walking into the stun or losing the engage angle, then clean up with R if needed to survive or secure.

Talon will almost always start red buff and path toward mid-lane gank pressure by level 3, using his E wall-jump mobility to appear from unexpected angles; expect him to prioritize early kills over farm, meaning he will skip camps to gank if a lane is pushed up.
He is likely to invade your jungle after a successful gank to snowball, so track his position carefully after any mid-lane skirmish.

You should generally avoid early invades against Talon, as his level 3 burst and E mobility make him dangerous in isolated 1v1 situations in your own jungle where you have no setup; instead, counter-jungle him after he commits to a gank by taking his camps while he is visible on the map.
If you do invade, do so only at his red buff around 3:15 with your W placed at the chokepoint entrance, giving you the stun setup needed to survive or win the exchange.

Do not use your W reactively after Talon has already landed his E on you, as the cast time means he will complete his full combo before the stun activates and you will die without getting value from it; W must be placed predictively at a chokepoint before he engages, not as a panic response.
Avoid fighting Talon when your passive is not close to proccing, as without that burst damage your damage output is significantly lower and his assassination pattern will outdamage you in a straight trade.
