LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose most extended trades because Yone's Q and W deal consistent physical and magic damage that outpaces your damage output at early levels; your best window is landing Q to root him and following with W, but Yone can dash through your Q with his E, making it unreliable.
- Post-6, your R gives you a meaningful power spike — a point-blank R into Q-W combo can delete Yone before he can retaliate, but only if you land R cleanly, as a missed R in melee range is a death sentence.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trade pattern is to bait Yone into extended melee range by walking up to last-hit, then immediately Q-W-AA when he commits to a trade; the root from Q is your only reliable way to prevent him from dashing out mid-combo.
- Avoid trading when Yone has his E active since he gains resistances and you will lose the exchange — wait for his E cooldown before engaging.
Wave Control
- Push the wave hard with W to maintain a large minion advantage and force Yone to last-hit under tower, which limits his ability to safely poke you with Q; a big wave also denies him the space to run extended trades.
- When you have priority, roam or shove to deny him reset opportunities, as Yone scales dangerously and a fed Yone mid-game makes this matchup nearly unwinnable.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not attempt to fight Yone when he has his E available and you have no R — his E gives him resistances and a repositioning tool that completely negates your slow, short-range kit.
- Many Cho'Gath players also forget to stack R on minions between fights; entering a skirmish without full stacks dramatically reduces your kill threat and tankiness.
