Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win this lane clearly at all stages because your Q-into-E spam deals more sustained damage than Yone can output in short trades, and your range keeps you safe from his Q engage.
- Post-6, his R is a genuine threat and can one-shot you if he lands it cleanly, so the dynamic shifts — you can still win extended fights but you must respect his all-in potential.
How to Trade
- Your optimal pattern is to land Q to poison him, then spam E repeatedly while he is poisoned to maximize damage, and place W under him if he tries to engage to slow his approach and amplify your E ticks further.
- If he commits to a full trade, kite backward with your passive movement speed while continuing to E, as his soul form return dash is predictable and you can position to avoid it.
Wave Control
- You want to slow-push the wave to build a large wave and crash it, then back or roam — this denies Yone farm and punishes his weak roaming speed compared to yours.
- Avoid letting the wave freeze near your tower, as that gives him a safe position to farm without taking poke and removes your ability to harass freely.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand still while casting E — Yone's Q has a long dash range and he will punish stationary targets, so you must be moving laterally while weaving E casts.
- Also avoid using R reactively when he jumps on you without first confirming he is not in his soul form, as mistiming your R stun means he simply returns to his body and re-engages while you are on cooldown.
