Pre-6, you and Zyra win this lane convincingly: your 650 range lets you poke Aphelios freely while Zyra's plants add passive chip damage that forces early recalls or summoner spells.
Post-6, you maintain the advantage — your R can execute a low-health Aphelios after any successful Zyra root, and Rakan's R engage can be pre-empted by Zyra's R knockup.

Your best trading pattern is to place E traps in Zyra's W seed locations so that any Rakan W engage lands the enemy directly into a trap, turning their aggression into a punish.
Follow up with headshot autos during the root duration and back off before Rakan's W shield can absorb further damage.

You want to slow-push the wave to build a large minion wave, then recall and let the wave crash into Rakan and Aphelios under their tower — this denies them safe positioning and forces Aphelios to farm under tower where your traps can zone him.
Avoid hard-freezing because Rakan can use that static situation to set up a surprise W engage without wave pressure to deter him.

Do not use your E traps reactively after Rakan has already landed his W — place them proactively in chokepoints and brush entrances before any engage happens.
Reactive trap placement gives Rakan's team the initiative and wastes your strongest zoning tool.
