Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you win the scuttle fight against Nunu due to your superior sustained damage and self-healing through your passive, which lets you outlast his W burst in a short skirmish; keep auto-attacking through his W and don't back off, as his W damage is front-loaded and you recover faster.
  • From level 6, you win 1v1 if you engage with E to close the gap before he can land a full-channel W, then use Q to reset your auto-attack pattern and sustain through his damage with your passive healing while staying on top of him to prevent him from walking out of your range.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Nunu typically starts Red Buff side (if red side) or Blue Buff side (if blue side) and looks to rush scuttle at level 3 with his W, often taking the fastest 3-camp clear possible; he prioritizes early scuttle control and river presence over deep farming.
  • He will frequently look for early ganks post-scuttle using his E slow to set up kills, and may attempt to counter-jungle your buffs if he identifies you clearing on the opposite side of the map.

Invade or Not

  • You should invade Nunu at his second buff camp (around 3:15–3:30) if you know his starting side, because his clear speed is high but his 1v1 dueling without W available is weak; catching him between camps without W up is your best window.
  • Invading his blue buff side after he's taken red (or vice versa) forces a fight where you have the damage advantage, but avoid invading when his W is up as the damage and slow can turn the fight against you even at early levels.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not let Nunu freely channel his W on you during extended fights — it deals massive damage over its duration and he can walk you into walls or terrain to maximize it; always position away from walls when fighting him.
  • Avoid chasing him into deep river or jungle when his R is available, as his R combined with W can stall long enough for his team to collapse on you while you're committed to the fight.
