LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, your passive stacking is a genuine threat in extended trades and your W blocks Thresh Q if you position between Thresh and Smolder, giving you a slight edge in sustained 2v2s.
- Post-6, Yasuo R off Thresh Q is the primary threat — your R can interrupt their combo but requires fast reaction, so the post-6 2v2 is a reaction-speed contest where a slow response means Smolder dies.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best pattern is to stack your passive on Thresh or Yasuo with 3 autos or Q-autos to stun them, then let Smolder freely poke the stunned target; your W should be used proactively to block Thresh Q rather than reactively after it lands.
- Avoid trading when your passive stacks are on cooldown — without the stun threat you have no kill pressure.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You should generally not roam pre-6 as Smolder is vulnerable to Thresh Q all-ins without you present, and Yasuo can dive him aggressively the moment you leave.
- Post-6, if the wave is pushed to the enemy tower and Smolder has enough items to sustain alone briefly, a quick R roam to mid can be impactful, but only if Thresh is also not in position to follow.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not stand directly in front of Smolder at all times — Thresh Q will hit you instead of Smolder, which wastes your W cooldown and leaves Smolder exposed to the follow-up.
- Avoid using your R offensively into Yasuo's W shield, as he will block it and you waste your primary peel tool right before their all-in.
