Who Wins
- Pre-6, Naafiri wins most direct trades because your soldiers require setup time and she can gap-close with her W to negate your range advantage; post-6, your R gives you a reliable disengage and repositioning tool that makes it very difficult for her to all-in you without dying to your soldier damage if you play the spacing correctly.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to place a soldier at max range, auto-attack through it, and immediately E away to reset the gap — never let her W land on you, as that is the primary condition under which she wins extended trades.
Wave Control
- Push the wave consistently with soldier auto-attacks to deny her the ability to walk up freely; a shoved wave forces her to farm under tower where her all-in is less threatening, and it also opens up roam-denial vision opportunities.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not try to fight her when your soldiers are on cooldown — she will simply W onto you and trade favorably with her pack damage before you can reposition, which is the single most common way Azir players lose this lane.
